Dear Alana guests,

Rethimno is known as a picturesque old town, thanks to its Venetian harbour and countless winding streets, where tourists and locals can be found day and night. The town is rich in history and was built on the ancient site of Rithymna, part of ancient Minoan civilization.
In Greece and especially in Crete, we say “opa,” when we are happy. It’s not simply an expression, or an overtone, it’s a feeling of enjoying the good things in life. It’s ‘kefi’ the joy of the spirit. When Greeks dance, it is a real pleasure.
